How to Create an Alias in Zimbra Admin

The email alias allows you to benefit from a secondary address on a Zimbra email account, you have the possibility to create an alias from the Zimbra Administration web client. In order to access the Zimbra Admin Portal you will go to: https://example.com:7071/zimbraAdmin, where “example.com” is the name of the email server you use.

 Instructions

Method 1: Managing All Aliases

  1. In the Zimbra Administration Web Client, select Manage → Aliases.

  2. In the top right corner of the screen, select the Gear icon and select New.

  3. A New Alias window will open. Insert the alias name and the target account that the alias will be linked to, and select OK when you are finished.

this method is useful for adding one alias to an account or managing all of the aliases created across all of the separate accounts in your server.

Method 2: Managing an Individual Account

  1. In the Zimbra Administration Web Client, select Manage → Accounts, and select the account that you want to make an alias for.

  2. Select Aliases on the left hand side menu. Select Add under the Alias list in the center of the screen.

  1. Enter the desired information for the alias in the pop up window, and select OK to finish.

This method is good for if you are adding multiple aliases to one account, or you want to manage the aliases linked to a specific account.
